ePROTESTS – ONLINE Protests

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO FILE A PROTEST THROUGH THE eFILE SYSTEM

eFile is Grayson Central Appraisal District’s new approach to filing protests and working with property owners with concerns about their values online.  eFile is available if:

o    You are protesting your homestead, meaning you are receiving a homestead exemption; and,

o    You are protesting the market value and/or you believe your property is not appraised equally when compared with similar properties.

If your protest involves an exemption, special appraisal, ownership, or jurisdictional issue, you cannot file your protest online. eFile is limited to protests on value issues only. If you own other properties, you cannot use the eFile system to file a protest on them. It will be necessary for you to file a protest either through the mail, or in person.

To eFile your protest, you must register through Grayson Central Appraisal District’s eFile Portal.  You will need the Owner ID and PIN number provided on your Notice of Appraised Value.  If you did not receive a Notice of Appraised Value, please call our office and the Owner ID and PIN number will be mailed to you if you qualify for eFile.  PIN numbers cannot be provided by telephone.  You must create a user name, password, and security question when you register.

Currently, only property owners with a homestead can file a protest online.  Grayson Central Appraisal District is currently accepting evidence or offering settlements through the eFile Portal.  Evidence and settlement offers will be emailed to the email address you provide upon registration.
