 Community involvement

  • GCAD has participated in the “2007 annual Fright Fest”, sponsored by the Sherman Police Department.  The employee’s, personally made a consolidated effort to raise supplies, treats, party favors, toys, stickers, cookies and decorations.  Fully dressed for the spirit of the event, the staff enjoyed every moment of the evening and are looking forward to participating in 2008 as well as future years.   

 

 

  • Christmas 2007 -  GCAD has invoked a fundraiser within the staff members.   “Dress Down for Donations” this event allows any employee of GCAD to wear jeans for a contribution of $1.00 per day or 2 canned goods.  With this they proudly display a sticker that announces their participation.  The cash will be donated to Toys for Tots, Meals on Wheels, etc (a qualified 501c3 charity) .  Over $300.00 was donated to Toys for Tots in 2007.  However, we had a late start.  2008 promises to be a much larger donation, as we are continuing contribution all year rather than just the holiday season.  

  • Town Center Tree and Train for Toys for Tots, and the KXII storage of the toys.

 

  • “Dress Down for Donations” also accumulates donations of canned good which are delivered to our local Tri County Nutrition Program quarterly throughout the year, also know as “Meals on Wheels”.  The staff members enjoy watching the collection of food grow daily.

 

  • Each year, the entire staff enjoys participating in the “Kiwanis Annual Pancake Day & Charity Auction” held in the youth center of the  United Methodist Church.   GCAD staff members look forward to this event every year with excitement.  It’s a time of fellowship, food, fun and a support of a charitable cause which stays within our community.
